Postby johnik » Thu May 29, 2014 5:53 pm

Looks like the oxygen sensor on my 1600 MK1 is toast,it is a single wire jobbie,i know the 4 wire heated ones warm up faster and are suposed to be more stable so.....can i put a 4 wire on?. :text-thankyouyellow:

Not really, and the single wire one works fine on the mx5 it was designed for it.

How would you wire your 4 wires into the standard ECU and calibrate its output :confusion-confused: . I think it's a non starter tbh.
good luck anyway :handgestures-thumbup:

Agreed on the above. One wire is narrowband, from memory 0-1v, 4/5 wire are wideband and 0-5v. Jon will be able to confirm...

Agree...
Just refit a single wire sensor.

ok cheers peeps.as for wiring, ignore the heater wires, they just warm it up faster and the one wire jobbie earths through the exhaust itself, there is only one conexion to the ECU so pretty simple realy,i just wondered about risastance values etc. :text-thankyouyellow:
