Interior Red and White wire

Postby Hugeness » Sun Jul 09, 2017 11:36 am

Does anybody know where I can pickup the red/white wire from the door switch to illuminate footwell lights?
I'm guessing it's a switched to earth as there is only one wire coming out of the switch.
I'm hoping to pick up a constant live from somewhere behind the radio so that shouldn't be a problem. I was hoping to find existing wiring built behind the blanking plates on the lower dash, but that isn't the case. I'm assuming it will come to the front of the car and run up the A pillar but I can't find it.

Any ideas as to where it would be best to cut into gratefully received. :confusion-confused:

Ok, update...

I reckon I've found it, drivers side right-hand trim, but... there seem to be two very similar wires.
I'll try both and see what happens :auto-layrubber: It'll be fine, what's the worst that can happen? Lol
I'm hoping either a blown fuse or blown bulb in which case it must be the other one :snooty:
It'll be fine, I'll let you know how it goes :laughing-rolling:

Ps, any one got a mk1 dash going cheap? Or... can a cracked dash be repaired/plastic welded?
