installing a potentiometer to control gauge lights

Postby chadz » Tue Aug 19, 2014 7:57 pm

I have just installed three auxiliary gauges that are illuminated by LED's. The light output is very bright and as the Mk2 does not have a means for reducing the light intensity of the dash panel gauges I was wondering if anybody had installed a potentiometer or a mazda dimmer switch to enable the gauge lights to be adjusted. This is something that I had not thought about when I fitted the gauges. It certainly would be required by anybody that has installed auxiliary gauges, especially if they are illuminated by LED's.
Hope somebody can shed a bit of light on the subject
