Fitting instrument cluster from a Mk2.5 into my Mk2?

Postby Shadgrind » Mon Nov 02, 2015 1:46 pm

Here it is...Image
Right, I have this coming from eBay, now, firstly it has idiot lights that are not applicable to my car, like ABS. So if I get it MOTd and they see the light dummy sat there would it fail as it doesn't light up?

Also, I have quite a bit of modifying done to my old cluster. Temp gauge "resistors" and OPG gauge and sender from Mk1. To transfer.

Most importantly, mother mileage is higher than my car by about three thou' . Can I just swap some of the internals over or is it, get my soldering iron out and solder sucker to remover the little chip?
