Centre pipe for the mk2.5

Postby ne.ross » Tue May 10, 2016 3:01 pm

Im looking to get a racing beat back box for my 2.5 but i also want to change thw centre pipe aswell. The only issue i see with the racing beat centre pipe is that it has no o2 sensor position so it would throw a CEL and fail mot. The only centre pipe i have seen that does have a o2 sensor but there is a 6mm difference in Interal diameter which even though i have no knowledge with exhausts, it doesnt sound good. Any ideas or recommendations? I would prefer and off the shelf exhaust rather than a custom centre pipe too

Hello mate. As MM mentioned I got one of these as a direct replacement for my original mid section which rotted away.

Its IL Motorsports, can't fault the quality. You get a smaller silencer box so you get a nicer burrrr sound when you open the throttle. But when low down the car sounds nice and civil. My one has been on for around 2 years I think? No issues. Recommended and at £150 plus delivery excellent value.

I have the Racing Beat Power Pulse Dual back box and Larini mid pipe and Sports cat on my Mk2.5. Larini don't show MX5 exhausts on their website any more, they seem to be concentrating on the top end of the market but I believe they will still make them on request.
