OEM Small Side Skirt - How To Attach

Postby njonesn » Sun May 06, 2018 5:36 pm

Hi.
I have been guided here (thanks Mazda Mender) for advice on how to attach the OEM Small Side Skirts to an MK2 without the fitting kit.
The OEM skirts I have found are in good condition but is missing all of the fitting kit. How easily can I fit this without the kit?
The last thing I want is it falling off mid drive!

Thanks
Nathan

You want either a good quality 3m double sided tape to run on the top edge of the skirts...a good cleaner so it is clean to bound on the skirts and the mazster...or some sticko flex/tiger seal etc...a good amount of mud flap clamps to clamp the skirt to the lip under neath...oe fittings front and rear...what i will push is marking up and apply a good underseal to protect that metal work behind those skirts.... Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290863315330

Thanks for that. I have never seen them off the car so was unsure about sticking and clamping. Good to know its an option. Found a set for £150 which seems reasonable. Annoyingly there are NEW! sets available in the US for less, but then the cost of delivery and TAX pushes them well over. I feel I am taking a small punt here so appreciate the confidence builder.

Thanks would be awesome and very much appreciated!
I get my 10AE back from the body shop next weekend; rear arches sorted, OEM spoiler painted and fitted, fully body detail and then a complete respray. Going to look amazing for the summer.
The skirts and paired OEM front lip, when I can find one, are next on my list to finish off the styling. I really like the looks that that kit gives the car.
