I know.
However but it cannot do harm either.
Being,of late, on fixed income pensions and having parted with a good chunk rebuilding my Mk1, I'm willing to give it a try in the faint hope of some improvement.
As I say, if it does not improve it's behaviours, it'll get the mechanical fixes sometime in the future.
I did notice...with 7 litres of fresh ATF, the drip has lessened considerably, but I doubt it will vanish.

But i though we had established it was from the power steering unions??? not the box.

Leak from PAS drain nut had spatter/tavelled along the tranny as well. That's been seen to but it was the least of the coincidental ATF staining.
The core drip, we discovered on a ramp inspection, having cleaned it all off and allowing it to drip again to trace it, was not actually the pipes, but a union on the offside of the 'box that enters the transmission housing.

In the event, and much to my cynical lack of expectations, that uber expensive Forte Auto trans additive/seal conditioner actually appears to be working. One wee drip in 3 days..and getting less. It can stay that way for a bit. In addition, the intermittant up-change whistle has gone, and the 'box chunters up and down like a new one.
£20.00 well spent...so far. Mind you, you cannot tell the Americans much about slush-boxes...and Forte products have an excellent reputation.

Did the Forte conditioner fix your auto leaks or did you have to have new seals
