Posting a photograph on the Forum
I have tried to post a photograph following the forum how to instructions. Quite simply it does not work. the screens shown do not appear on my computer. Would it be possible for someone to write a set of simple, and I do mean simple instructions on how to post a photograph? Bearing in mind some people, including me, are very new to the computer world.

You could try hosting images in Photobucket, thats a very simple option and the one I use.

Re: posting a photograph
Me too...I agree that posting them as attachments can be little time consuming and they won't show up until the post is posted anyway, even if you do manage it.
I tend to put them on my photobucket, then in the 'sharing options' bit, click on the 'img tags' box and it will copy the tag, then just paste it directly into the forum post. They have hidden the 'img tag' bit on photobucket now, but you can make it reappear easily enough - I think they don't like it as it loses them the advertising revenue.

We are working on a drag and drop system, but it is not as easy as it looks, its the auto resizeing thats the issue, because adding pics is a biggy to sort out with being geared around repairs, Mr Flea sent me a great little bit of software/programme that i use to resize and load in here, until we find a site solution.

Thankyou for your reply. I have created an account with photobucket and can install the photos on it. I can transfer them to the owners club site by copy and paste, but that does not work for this site. I have followed the instructions carefully but without success. In fact my wife and I spent all yesterday afternoon trying to post a photo. Is there a simple way to transfer photos from photobucket, or from my pictures to this site? I would really like to be able to post photos.

You simply click on the link for the image, the one starting IMG and paste that code into the thread. Works every time for me and I am a tech numpty.
Its exactly the same as doing it on the OC or for that matter any forum.

Re: posting a photograph
Photobucket hid the [img] links behind an 'additional options' link now...you can make it appear again by ticking a box and getting rid of something you don't use like [html] ones. Click the box and it says 'copied' then right click on the forum post and 'paste'.
The html links work on OC, but not here. [img] links work on both forums.

Jon. You are a genius. You have hit on the missing link. It is only when I click on 'post' that the code becomes a photograph! Like a great many things in life easy when you know how. The time I have spent on this to be foiled by the one last step. Thankyou very much to everyone who replied and helped it is much appreciated.

Re: posting a photograph
Moving this thread to right place.
Unfortunately the whole sport of upload images onto the net is not totally straight forward. Users are encouraged to attach/upload fotos to this site, but are also welcome to use a third party host such as PhotoBucket. However one thing I dont about PhotoBucket is how photos can disappear from there for reasons such as too many people loading a particular picture, or simply the original poster deleting them to free up space. Missing photos can ruin threads unfortunately. As an alternative option maybe consider Google's photo hosting options Picassa or Google+.
@Geoff, could you please elaborate? I am assuming you had issues because the instructions are using the original "old look" of the site. If you are using either of the newer looks ("lighter" or "darker") then yes the screens will look different.
Either way the instructions need updating.
You can see your attached pictures before you post. If you have already added them, place them inline to your post then hit the preview button.

Re: posting a photograph
Yes, preview or post works, they just don't show in the editor, which can be a little confusing I guess, but is fairly usual I believe.

Oh I see what you mean. It is possible to upgrade the editor so that everything you type whether it be pictures of different colour letters appear immediately as if its a word processor. Worth considering if theres enough demand. Although I would like to crack multi picture uploading first.
