Any more specific details? At a guess I would say they are having trouble finding the PM button on the New look - hover over users name, then three options appear.

Ok assuming the user you are PMing does exist, maybe you are typing your message in the wrong box?

There is a largish box below "To:" for typing in users who you want to send your message.

Could you try PMing me and when you do could you make sure you have scrolled right down the bottom of the page and type into the last large box please.

I think that was the problem both John and I were having. Now a little clearer, I wont say the black background doesn't help.........

Hmmmm, dont think it has anything to do with colours.

The size of the boxes and layout? Yes maybe room for improvement, and this has been duly noted.

However, how that screen appears can differ for every user, be influenced by screen resolution and choice of browser.

Hi,
My problem was that if I typed into the Username space - "The Captain" - then clicked 'Add', it said something along the lines of Some users don't wanted to be PM'ed.
But
this afternoon, if I clicked 'Find a member', then typed 'The Captain', it found him and I could click the tick box and then he was added.

I tried again today and get the same for Nick, but as a test I tried 'Roadster1980' into the username and click 'Add' and it works. Perhaps it is the space in Nick's name??

Yes I would suspect its the fact that there is a space and so it goes off looking for someone called The. If you include quote marks it might work - I will look into it tonight.

Right you two there is nothing wrong with the software or the PM system on this board, through your accounts or anyone elses ,i have personally been testing them with no issues, it is simply down to how you are useing it, you are both more than welcome to call and i will talk you through it ,and you will both kick yourself when you see just how easy it is. :handgestures-thumbup:

I always use the Find... option even if I know the name of the person I want to PM. Never had a problem that way.

Hmm ok, well you will have to treat Nick as a special case if you want to PM him ;)

By the way, you only need to hover your mouse over the user name on the forum, and you will get the option to PM that user directly.
