Mk2.5 Headlights Improvement

Postby Barn1e » Tue Oct 15, 2013 10:00 am

After driving through heavy rain last night in the dark on motorway and unlit B roads, I would like to improve the performance of the headlights. I have done a search on Forum but could not find anything (poor searching on my part).

I dont want to spend silly money and dont want to dazzle the oncoming drivers. My guess is the bulbs are the original (2001) as the car has only done 45k miles and tended to be off the road in winter for much of its life.

Thoughts?

Barrie. check out AutoBulbs Direct and then make your choice from there. Also have you checked your headlight lens, they could well do with machine polishing to get them nice and clear again.

Nick, thanks for the link. I think what I am seeing is an upgrade option to Xenon of which there are several to choose from, including an old stock clearance at £9.99 a pair. http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/HB4-90 ... &end=front

I will have look at surface of the glass in the morning. I dont recall them looking scratched or dull

I think I have the Ring +120% bulbs in mine and I find the light output to be excellent. The headlights, particularly on dipped beam is way better than Mk1/2.
