FAQ Request - Fitting Fog Lamps Mk2.5

Postby agent_orange » Sun Mar 18, 2012 8:41 pm

I would like to request a FAQ on how to fit fog lamps onto a Mk2.5

This is something I have been wanting to do for yonks, and is something that should not be hard to achieve, but (for me atleast) I cant find a straight forward answer as to how to go about this. Yes there is tonnes of information from various people on various forums, but the only thing I have established for sure is how to get the plastic blanks out of the nose cone, and that there is no wiring already in place.

And to make things interesting, rather than just being plain fog lamps, could they be used as part of the side lights (because we dont get that much fog in the UK right? )

Why not just wire them in so you can switch them on when ever you want, but will only work with the ignition on, on the lighting circuit?

I'l tell you what to use, and where from, and you can take pic's and a do write up to post up on here as it will work for all Mk's and models, for everyone else to use.
It's dead easy.
so are you becoming a mazda mender sir and getting your hands dirty?

Sure, Im up for writing the article. After all I was going to suggest my five should do the photo modelling

Does your method require the special dual fog lamp switches, or can this be done with the existing switch?
