Fitting uprated Variable speed wash wipe from RX8 Mk3.5

Postby alan » Fri May 18, 2012 5:34 pm

Just fitted new wash wipe switch - switch from Mazda RX 8

1/ Locate three screws in ignition switch / wiper switch cowling, the screw nearest the bottom of the cowling is a threaded screw the other two just below the steering wheel are just like self tapper.

2/ Remove these three screws squeeze the cowling and it will come apart lift the bottom half away and just lift up the top half out of the way becarefull with the ignition switch courtesy light just move up a bit out of the way.

3/ Locate the two small screws that retain the switch remove these two screws and pull the switch out toward you it located on a slide, then squeeze the locating peg on the plug of the wiring contector to remove the switch it off with the old.

4/ Fit the conector to your new switch and slide back into place refit the two screws, then rebuild in reverse of above don't forget the different screws for the ignition cowling then wait for some rain to test.
