Cardington today - new airship spotted

Out for a blast with my son in Zippy today and we spotted this.

From the field it really did look proper Dan Dare like a retro spaceship had landed in a field

Apparently Bruce Dickinson is putting some dosh into this new airship, and i think it looks great. It's quite a large machine and we look forward to seeing it airbourne soon. There are not enough airships as far as i am concerned. As we stood looking at it we thought of how the people must have gazed in awe at the R101 moored there all those years ago. That must have looked awesome.

Sorry about the photos but my good phone camera is away for repair but i hope you like the shots.

It's a sort of cross between an airship and a plane... it goes slower but can carry a lot of weight... like tanks etc...apparently.

Huge great thing! We could see it from our front garden on it`s second flight test recently.

I`ll see if i can dig out the photos wifey took. The first test flight crash landed :eek:
