Just wondering so I'll ask.

I know that for some thier MX5 is a daily driver, but for some like me, it's more social car, days out and touring holidays.

But with the spiralling costs of fuel, especially for those of us who either have to or choose to run Super E5 fuel, have you cut back on your days out. We certainly have.

The problem I have in the Highlands is getting fuel. Our local outlets inc Tesco have run out of everything at some point. There was no super U99 at Tesco for going on 2 months. When it came in they ran out of unleaded so everyone used up the super. Gulf had SU97 at the same price as diesel. My fear is not finding super so I’ve decided against anything but shortish journeys. Same problem with my motorbike, can only run on super.

I feel your pain buddy. We would normally be heading up to the highlands for a weeks touring and exploring in the MX but the fuel prices and the possibility of there being limited E5 super has put us off this year.

Cant see prices ever going back to something like normal.

We’re told the problem is finding tanker drivers. At one point no deliveries for nearly a week when they went off with omi covid. My nearest independent sells a lot of diesel (HGV’s)but little Petrol. The main tank is filled once a year. This time it lasted 15 months. Put in when price was low and sold high as old fuel. All legal and above board. Doing another fill up of cans tomorrow. Still have 12 cars, on and off road, cheaper to get cans than drive them the 12 mile round trip to fill up at the nearest Super pump.
