Bunch of Fives EVO Run July 5th 2015

Postby Roddy » Sat Jun 13, 2015 10:02 am

Hi Everyone - Rather than have our usual Sunday morning meet at Costa Coffee (Northop Hall Services, A55 Chester) it's been proposed that we make the most of the expected good weather and tackle (once again) our version of the EVO TRIANGLE but this time avoiding the A5, and it's caravans, as much as possible. As an added treat the new route means we get to do the Nant-y-Garth pass twice.
Our starting point will be the Ponderosa Cafe at the head of the Horseshoe Pass above Llangollen and we should aim at getting there for 9.30 to 10.00 for a start at around 10.15 ish. We will have a rest stop at Llyn Brenig where they have the required facilities before tackling the EVO proper.
According to the map the whole route ending back at the Ponderosa is about 90 miles.

If you want to take a look at the route then this is the link http://www.plotaroute.com/route/78245. Will check it out fully over the next week or so just to ensure its still all there as some of the roads are a bit narrow and interesting!

Stick a note on the forum if you are coming so we can ensure we don't leave without you.

Hi All - Did the full route yesterday and all roads are fine and should give you a fair mix of driving conditions. It took me about 3 hrs but there was no trafic (and no sign of the boys in blue). Would work on it being closer to 3-1/2 hrs + on the Sunday.
Hope to see you at the Ponderosa on the 5th.
