Drainage outlets.

Postby travellers » Tue Apr 15, 2014 8:19 am

After periods of heavy rain, I can hear a swishing sound of water when braking, I suspect the sills are filling with water. Can anyone tell me where the drain outlets should be, or suggest a remedy? Thankyou. Ian. 1990 mk1 eunos owner.

should help, I use a trombone brush that you can purchase off ebay that does a great job of getting them clean.

Poke a cable tie or small thin screwdriver in the sill drain holes to let the water out. 4 on each sill by the jacking points. Then check them 3 or 4 times a year to make sure they don`t block up again.

Hood drain tubes (near the upper seat belt mounts). Use a curtain wire or similar down from the top & gently pull it out under the car.

Thanks for posting photos Dave, I used them today while helping a friend who had severe water problems. Proved very useful as although I thought I knew where hood drain holes were I couldn't find them......the reason being.......they were so clogged solid there was no drain hole. The trombone brush previously ordered but so far unused did the job fantastically.

Off to do mine tomorrow :obscene-drinkingcheers:
