Hi All, as shown below: between the bonnet reinforcing skin and top skin there is a pasty sort of substance which looks as though it should be holding the 2 skins together. However it is not... is this a problem? if so how to fix it? some new glue?
What you put in, you'll get back ten fold

Re: Bonnet Reinforcing Skin Connection
Yes its whatever glue they use to bond the two sides of the bonnet together. Looking at the photo if that is original paint then everything is red which suggests its been like that from the factory. Is it just that one spot or is it all coming apart. I would not worry if it's just that one glue spot.

Re: Bonnet Reinforcing Skin Connection
I'd say about 50% of the joints were loose. However, the bonnet doesn't move excessively if I lean on the top skin when closed. I didn't think it would be a major problem, but better safe than sorry and all that jazz. If I did decide to do something about it, should I just clean the old glue out and use a 2 part epoxy (or similar)?
