Rear Lights (inc Brake Lights) not working

Postby Nookey » Wed Feb 28, 2018 1:41 pm

HI All,

I've had a few problems with my 1998 Mk2 RS since bringing it out of it's winter hibernation. Which has resulted replacement Main Fuse, Battery and Alternator. But now these are all sorted my latest problem is with my rear lights.

The Brake lights and rear lights are no longer working, however, the reverse lights, indicators and number plate light are working fine. I'm hoping that this is just a fuse issue and I can check when I'm home in daylight. Is there one fuse that services both the rear lights and brake lights on an Import or is this likely to be another issue?

Any ideas on what might be the problem would be very welcome, thanks in advance.

Cheers

That main fuse takes some blowing...did you jump start her wrong? as for the lights sounds like a fuse or have you knocked something while changing the battery in the boot.

 I'm not going to admit to jump starting it wrong on this forum  I'll have a look and check if I've knocked anything and the fuses. Thanks for the quick response...
