Replacement dashboard on 1994 Eunos Roadster

Postby Jmalbar » Mon Feb 06, 2023 12:42 pm

Hi – I own a 1994 MX5 Eunos Roadster R Limited which I really enjoy driving. Towards the end of last year I decided to replace my scruffy and cracked dashboard with a second hand unit. I numbered all the connectors as I took the dashboard out and last week installed the new one. As I approached the end of the installation I re-connected the battery to check all was working as it should. Unfortunately the one item that that did not work was the headlights/sidelights which is obviously pretty critical!
I am not very good with wiring problems so any diagnostic help will be much appreciated. It could be a bad connection, but I cannot identify which connectors under the dashboard relate to the lighting wiring.
Thanks

Sounds like it is one plug that you have missed on the left hand side of the steering column behind the dash where the main cluster of plugs and sockets are to connect the dash electrics to the main loom.

@ Jmalbar

did the replacement dashboard have it's loom or did you use the cars origonal dashboard loom?

^^theres different car / dashboard looms with the connections / plugs by the steering column being an obvious one (if you look!)....

and I believe that '93 or '94 is the change :confusion-confused:
