nb fl a/c condenser

Postby briancoolcat » Wed Mar 01, 2023 8:39 pm

Hi I was wondering if you could give some advice please. While cleaning my MK 2.5 I noticed the fins on the condenser for the a/c are so brittle they will just fold in and even start to flake off at the slightest touch. I have left well enough alone as my a/c still works but I have been scouring the internet for a new condenser with the intention of changing it but they cannot be got for my car. its the 146 hp 2003 nbfl. They can be got for the models before and after my car. What are my options? Everything on the car is original and its kept in a garage but its age related no doubt. How long before my condenser gives up the ghost and will i be able to fit a condenser from a different model to my car when it does? Thanks in advance if you can help.

The fins are just designed to direct air flow not the A/C oil, so the A/C will be fine, trying to get your hands on a new one now would be near impossible.
If the inner fill is starting to completely disappear, you will need to think about adding some kind of support inbetween to stop sag of the main oil flows.
