2003 MX5 S-VT

Postby Marvt74 » Wed Jun 24, 2015 12:46 pm

Bought this about 2 years ago but sadly circumstances have dictated it needs to be moved on.

I had it for around a year before giving it to my dad, it then sat in his garage between about September 14 to April 15. When it came out it was a little ropey but I'm putting this down to lack of use and old petrol. Since filling it up a few times with Momentum the engine is running nicely again.

I bought it on around 93000 miles and I think it's currently sat around 98000, fairly minimal use highlighting the fact it was a weekend toy. The tyres were changed when I got it so should have plenty life left.

The bad points -

It passed it's MOT in April but has an advisory for a corroded power steering pipes. This does seem to give a bit of a grinding/rubbing noise when turning the wheel, particularly at low speeds. This is something I intend to fix in the next few weeks.

There is some fairly heavy wear to the leather on the drivers side outside bolster. Seems to be a common issue but it's something that hasn't particularly bothered me.

My dad managed to scrape the passenger side front wing fairly heavily when reversing out of the garage. Again this is something I need to get fixed. Just need to source the paint.

It's fitted with a Pioneer double din touchscreen head unit. Great little thing for Bluetooth audio and can get google maps displayed with the correct cable. Can put the stock unit back in though for sale.

I bought the windblocker from MM when I got it. Again this can be removed and sold separately.

The sills were repaired in August 2013 by Autoline along with the front chassis rails and underside being treated. Should be in decent nick for a few years I'd have said.

Looking for £2600 although can be sold cheaper if you want to take it now before I start doing work to it :)

Still here and reduced to £2000 :)

Also to add that the power steering pipes and the front wing got repaired last month so it's all running as it should be :)
