1995 R-Limited in Blue for Sale

Postby Ratz » Sat Feb 27, 2016 6:49 pm

So it's time for me & the little roadster to part company after nearly 4 years together, I don't want to particularly, but for a number of reasons it's where we are. Good news is I'm not leaving the fold altogether and will be on the look out for a nice Mk3 to replace in the very near future - so if you're up for a swap with some cash then I'm open to discussion.

The car:
    1995 'M' Reg R-Limited in Satellite Blue (1 of 894)
69k Miles from new, backed up by MOTs (since imported at least)
MOT until Sept 2016, only advisory was to secure battery better
Garaged for for last 4 years
    Located in Wilmslow

The Good:
Thick history file showing lots of receipts and evidence of being well looked after
Meister R Suspension fitted approx 2 years ago (3k miles ago) & full geo / alignment done at Blink Motorsport
Reconditioned calipers, disks & original Mazda pads fitted all round about the same time. Brake fluid replaced with racing spec Dot 4.
Seats recovered in new red leather
Original 15" BBS Alloys in almost perfect condition (including a spare centre cap)
Front tyres only a few hundred miles old (Rainsport 3's), rears probably half worn (Rainsport 2's)
TR Lane Roll Bar fitted (car has done only one trackday, approx. 15 laps of Oulton Park)
High capacity alloy radiator fitted so no overheating however hard you try
Timing belt, water pump & clutch replaced 6k miles ago
Choice of 3 original Nardi Steering Wheels (black leather rim with plastic centre, wood rim with polished centre or wood rim with matt black centre)
Wheelarches & sills fully Dinitroled, no rust on sills or in wheels arches. Dinitroled & hammered underneath as far as I could reach while on axle stands :-D
Front wings detached at bottom & crap cleared & then rustproofed, painted with Hammerite
RS Aizawa (can't verify as an original) style nose/front spoiler
Gearbox & Diff oil changed for high quality Redline MT-90
    Air-con re-gassed and fully working
Decent MP3 / Android compatible stereo & decent door speakers.
Gear lever boots top & bottom replaced
Regularly serviced every 12 months, oil / filter / air filter / belts / spark plugs / fuel filter
    Higher intensity headlights fitted
Front sidelights de-tangoed & also have a spare set (also de-tangoed)

The Bad:
At some point in the cars history the battery leaked and rusted through a small section of the boot floor behind the battery (See photo). Not deteriorated in my ownership & no water gets in.
Roof is getting a little tired with cracks over driver's window, so would advise this be replaced in the not too distant future.
Bodywork good, but not perfect by any stretch.

Summary:
Mechanically pretty much perfect, interior very good, minor bodywork / roof issues.

Not wishing to tempt you further of course - but here's a link to a folder of photos showing more detail on condition, history & spec.

I just love the interior and some of the goodies to pop into mine, but her in doors is questioning my sanity again along with a few other topics which I wont discuss on here.

Pondering over another dilemma ???

What's a dilemma but the luxury of too much choice and sanity is such a subjective term. Once you've made your choice, then comes the negotiation....

Some ideas.... http://jalopnik.com/5901031/ten-ways-to ... -you-want/

Keep coming back to this page over and over, I'm in South Wales so a good few hours away though.
Looking for a replacement MX as a daily, pushing the budget this but seriously tempted!

Hi, I've taken a deposit on the car so it's provisionally sold but until the full amount's in the bank and the car's gone it's not off sale

If it falls through I'll be back in touch, although there are 3 other people in the same position.

Cheers
Andy

Cannot believe I have missed this. I've been looking for a mk1 like this since January and only just discovered this website.

Gutted beyond words!
