Drivers door lock

Has anyone got the driver side door lock mechanism just got locked in, had a look i think it may just be the spring on the top of the lock mech just not enough umph in the spring to pull back into place?

You need to replace the spring, available from Autolink.

Yes lucky i dropped the roof ready to climb out, pulled up home and it opened, thats when i was able to get into it and have a look, lubed everything up and then came to the conclusion that its the little spring on the top of the lock mech.

Long ago I bought a 'box of assorted springs' from a hardware store for a few quid. Best money I ever spent...there's been a spring in there for everything I've ever needed, including my clutch switch and door lock on the 5. If you see one, grab it. :-)

Unfortunately whilst trying to find out why the door wasnt opening, i found out previous owners were not so careful when removing the door cards as they had pulled apart top and bottom sections :evil: another job to do when time and funds allow.

You can get a box from maplins, machine mart and the bay of e, i know the assorted box jon, i have a box sat on the shelf which as saved many many owners over the years.

Are all the little screw cups broken? if so screw what you can down and get some good gaffer tape and tape the two halfs together on the back where no one will see it and it will hold :handgestures-thumbup:

I like that idea i have gaffer tape, yes all but one of the screw holders have been broken.
