Air Chamber

Postby Speedy » Sun Dec 16, 2012 11:14 pm

Today was spent putting the Red un into the Airchamber that I was fortunate to inherit by a dear friend of mine who sadly passed away a few years ago before he got the chance to use it for his Aston Martin DB9.

I wasn't going to use it this year as it is a faff getting the five into it, nothing to do with the chamber but only because I cannot get the car out of the spot it has be sited on for the winter, so it has to be pushed into the chamber whilst it is deflated and with no frame, as it has a groundsheet it is not easy getting past the wheels and the sheet in place.

Did notice this morning that the shed roof was leaking and the Red un was getting a little damp even though it was covered with Egyptian Cotton sheets and an indoor cover.

Started off by pushing the five into it very slowly

Once it was fully inside the door was zipped closed and the Air circulating fans was switched on to allow the chamber to blown up as the frame could not be fitted.

All blown up and internal frame fitted

12v Circulation fans are on 24/7 and keeps air circulating round the five keeping it completely dry and as clean as was when it went inside.

That looks like a great bit of kit!

I`d be tempted to hibernate mine for a few Winter months if i had one of those. As it is mine will be in it`s usual freezing cold damp garage & come out to play as often as possible. Roll on Summer :auto-layrubber:
