Soft top cleaning (vinyl)

Postby roadster1980 » Wed Feb 27, 2013 10:05 pm

Right just thought I'd start this up as I've seen it for mohair roof but not vinyl,
So what do you guys use as I've tried a few products, they look good when it's on but a soon as it rains it's smears all down the side of the car, like greasy, so what do you recommend to treat it and keep it like new that doesn't come off in the rain

I've tried loads. Mr Sheen looks great for a very short time, best water beader is a bike leather wax, can't remember the name but I will find it. Not great to look at but beads the water right off.

Renapur leather balsam, great stuff and you don't need to use much for it to work.

Meguiar's Ultimate Protectant Dash and Trim Restorer works well for me.

This has just been applied by Griffiths Detailing looks good so far,

I use Renovo cleaner and proofer a couple of times a year, but for a good balck look, and brilliant beading I use Auto Glum Bumper Care, applied and then buffed up.

I use the Renovo stuff too. Lasts about 6 months.

I have tried the AG bumper care stuff but found that it "leaks" onto the paintwork after rain.
Boot polish works well too. Blackens and adds a wax protective layer.

I tried AG Bumper Care, but found that it ended up very patchy with white circles everywhere. I have tried AG Vinyl care, works well, but not a long term solution.
