Pete Can't Open his Bonnet

Postby MrChrome » Fri Dec 07, 2012 9:23 am

Poorly Pete just rang and said his bonnet on his Mk2 won't open.

He says it was fine yesterday but when he got home it wouldn't open.

Any ideas?

Sounds like it may have been pushed a bit out of line, get someone to pull the release lever while you pull & push on the bonnet.

Failing that, cut a hole in the front bumper and get the crowbar out ;-)
Regards.

Put a rope onto the bumper, tie other end to the gate, stick it in reverse and give it a pull out !!!!

well in answer to your question i have personally found that simply putting the hook end of a bungie cord strap onto the pull release in the cab, and depending on just how long the cord strap is either hook the other end to the door pillor lock or a spoke on the back wheel (see pic for ref) .
This method is used if you are on your own with no one to pull the bonnet release lever in the cab
