Well the exception there is a chap usually from Dubai can actually buy one of the above. Whereas this Hennesey if I understand correctly is a one off built to break a record. Ok it gets publicity but seems an expensive way of going about that.

I do struggle to see the point too - the big difference and a point that's often missed with the Veyron is that it, and only it, will do V.max all day (exc. fuel and tyres!), every day, for many many years and in complete comfort.
The Henessey (s, there have been a few), while they're very good at matching the veryon on V.max they last a very short while and are reputedly trying to tear themselves apart and or go airbourne the whole time. They did a Ford GT based effort a while back if I recall right, that lasted for four runs before it lunched the motor and cracked the tub!
You can't go up against the almost limitless budget of VW and win and I'm sure they didn't spend the 200m euro down the pub... :handgestures-thumbup:
