Ok, great idea. Cannot knock the technical bit and what it does and is made for, easy to use and does what it says on the tin....But...

This is nearly £50, with postage, so not cheap for what you get....

First impressions - the cardboard box packaging also doubles up as a storage box.
The instructions are nice and easy to follow. Looked at the bits bolted together stuck in Styrofoam to keep the exposed pins safe.
Lifting it out is nerve racking as it looks flimsy with everything on show so you are scared you might break something, which to me defeats the object it was designed for ...for use in a garage and around an engine bay where rough and ready, grease, oil and water come into play. This is far from being up to the task with the obvious lack of protection needed for its purpose.

It is very clear that this was designed off a MK 1 with the MK 2 being an after thought. When we tested it we found that there was loads of room to fiddle about and plug the tool into the diagnostic port on a MK1. Unlike the MK 2 where you need to fiddle a little to line up the pins to the port because of how close it is to the wing, which means the operation buttons become near impossible to use under the wing with the half inch gap it gives you to work with by using your little finger so the buttons for one need to be moved to the bottom for more ease of use.

Personally I feel that it should push down solid to the port rather than sitting proud of it simply to know it is all in and locked in place for use, or even better be on a cable to plug in. With the buttons moved to a better place for use instead of being obstructed by the MK 2's wing making things difficult to use. It does need protection, simply because of the environment for which it is intended. Feels fragile unfinished and should be used with anti static gloves on a red velvet cushion with tassels all the way around it for this delicate clever thing to do its job. The screen protection is flimsy and is only half stuck in place which is in the bracket of correct protection again and a proper safe storage case would not go amiss.

On the whole it does it's job very easy, but looks unfinished ,still in prototype mode that stopped just there with all the thought going into what it does and not carrying on to the full package it will be used for and where, cannot knock the technical behind it, hats off...but it is a shame it finished there.

Do I think it is worth the money,,,,,,,no...cheaper to just get a jumper and LED kit from Autolinkmx5 which will do the same job..

So I give it a 4 out of 10 ...... 4 because of what it does which it does well, loosing on the finishing( looking and feeling like it is still in protype/development which shockly it is not) and lack of after thought, tricky to use on a MK 2 and value for money.
