Draper floor transmission jack

Postby Mazda Mender » Sun Nov 23, 2014 10:48 pm

We have used this 3 times so far, and is worth it's weight in gold for the home mechanic, that is swapping a gearbox, clutch change or diff change,( we used it to drop a diff and sub frame all in one when doing a petrol tank change) as has been the case every time we have used it, we would of been lost with it, the only issue we have ever had is that it does not get down low enough without the axle stands being at there dangerous limit/ height, the strap should be a ratchet action type( which we are about to change on this one) although the one that comes with it is up to the job, also it would be better with a rubber mat on the bed so the unit you are removing sits on to help with gripping it tight.
So for these reasons alone i give it 8 out of 10 :handgestures-thumbup:

Here's an "out of the box" suggestion. When I were young I had some crap cars and did a few engine & gearbox changes. To move the lumps around I used an old skateboard. Of course I couldn't jack it up/down like you can with this but it still made the job a lot easier..
