Winking Popups Mod for Mk1

Come and see what our Jon is up to, with his electric gizmos that his mind and hands mould into magic little boxes of tricks, he gets bored very easily, so if you have an idea that you can throw at him, all the better for him to play with ;0)

For those that are eagerly awaiting this mod, I am currently building the first batch which I anticipate will hit the shelves within the next week or so. Initial numbers will be limited, so keep your eyes glued here, or Facebook, or Twitter or email. I will send out an update once they have hit the shelves and are available to purchase. Don't worry too much if you miss out on the first batch though, as more will follow shortly afterwards.

After a little research, I've found that this would unfortunately be illegal to fit unless you are an emergency vehicle. So it wouldn't be a viable product unfortunately. If I find 10 minutes I can knock up a circuit diagram for a fairly simple circuit if you want to make yourself one...but it's probably not advisable.

Hi all,

I wonder if you can help me please?

I had the wink mod delivered yesterday and set about trying to fit it this morning. I identified wires A & B using a test lamp and then spliced the unit in. On testing, the wink mod doesn't pop the headlight up or down at all unfortunately.

I have the 4 primary wires connected and the red/white on the mod connected to ground for testing.

I have tested the headlamp motor works fine when the unit is removed.
I have double checked the wires are connected correctly.

When I ground the grey wire I can hear the relay clicking.

I am not getting a 12v signal out of the mod at all. I would expect to get a 12v from the mod across the y/b or g/b wires (depending on if I had a 12v across wire A or B according to headlight position)

Is there anything else I should check or should I speak to Autolink about a replacement unit?

I'd like to get this sorted as quickly as I can as my wife is very keen to have this working on her car. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

The gray wire is for a switch so you can manually wink.
Is everything wired correct? some early models might need you to switch the lights on with the stalk to double pull to wink? and flash to pass mod i think might fix the issue, but you will need to speak to Jon.
Of course it could be a faulty unit, but i cannot see it, but would not rule it out

Just to let people know I had a replacement unit sent and it's perfect.

The customer service from Jon and Autolink was excellent.

Every company and product has little issues from time to time, that's to be expected. The mark of a quality company is how quickly and painlessly they resolve these issues and this was excellent.

My wife is delighted about the fact she can now wink at men in cars.

.....hold on.....
