Vlads very simple, well thought out and well made Boot light LED for the Mk 2/2.5 fitting how to and review...


The kit.....

Undo the two 10mm head bolts that hold the boot bracket locking loop...

Put the boot bracket locking loop on top of the s/steel LED light unit bracket taking note of where the F for FRONT/FORWARD face's.....

You will only need one 10mm head bolt and the other will be replaced with the threaded switch from the kit, screw the locking nut on the switch all the way to the top ready for fitting.....

Finger tighten up the 10mm head bolt and switch through the boot bracket locking loop and the LED light unit bracket to the boot making sure the F is facing forward and the LED....

Nip the the 10mm head bolt up tight and the locking nut for the switch...

You will not need this, but put it away safe just in case you should ever remove the boot light LED...

Do not connect the press plug from the LED light unit and switch just yet....

Thread the cable down the OE boot cable trunking....

And down behind the boot trim, pull it out a little so it can be fed down towards the battery, at this point the boot floor carpet has been removed and the hard board guard/cover from over the battery....

Undo the 10mm nut on the battery, we are now working on the plus side of the battery and it would be very easy to short out with the ratchet, so for safety reasons undo the negative side also please, please make sure that you have your HU codes before doing so....

This is the fuse holder that comes with the kit and we need to plug the other spade end connector from the LED light unit onto it...

The fuse holder should have a 5 amp fuse in there, remove the fuse before fitting, take the square side of the battery clamp bolt out and thread it through the hoop connection and back through the battery clamp...

Put the 10mm nut back on the bolt and tighten back up, not forgetting the negative battery clamp too.....

Cable ties or electrical tape the LED light unit cable to the trucking and boot hinge and to the loom further in, so it will not catch

Now we need to connect the press connector from the LED light unit to the switch......

Press the connector down and push the wire from the switch in the hole and release the connector....

Now put the fuse back into the fuse holder and the LED should now light up...

Check the LED light is lit and press the switch to check it goes off and on again....

Now you need to make sure that it goes out when you shut the boot, follow the instructions below.....

This is a great little bit of kit, and as simple as it is there has been a lot of thought gone into it to make this easy to fit and works very very well.
