This is a very simple and quick install. It only requires a medium phillips driver a phillips stubby driver and trim tool. The filter is recommended to be changed every twelve months ,if a daily usage Roadster that becomes far less and enven more so through the cold wet winter months with the Hard top on, ( see pics at the bottom of the guide from testing)which replacement filters can be purchased direct from the Jass performance's website, the link to do so will be at the end of this walk through guide.

Now this guide to install, is for both the Right and Left hand drive Roadsters, it makes no difference just mirror it to suit which side.
Order put in and a prezzie arrives really quickly from Jass performance...

And onto the roadster to fit. In this case it is a Jap spec MK 1 NA 1993 1.8 but makes no difference...

Unscrew the S/S phillips head screw at the back and put it somewhere safe...

Then turn out the plastic trim screws from the centres and remove both parts, they are only soft plastic so don't be a Gorilla. The one in the scuttle my be a tad fiddly, so use the stubby to turn out so far and then finish off with the trim tool, and put them somewhere safe...

Now to the trim hoop for the screen wash hose. Using the trim tool get in-between the plastic cover and the base of the hoop and gently lever slowly while pushing towards the middle of the scuttle and it should pop out. And put it somewhere safe...

Now they are all out it is just a case of lifting the cover to reveal the air intake for the cab. It is just a simple case of offering the body and filter onto the tubs frame and giving it a press down on the filter frame to fit snugly into place...

And that's it really. Put the cover back into place again and put all the holding bits back, with the plastic screw trim bits, push the body of the plastic screws into the holes first and then just push the screws in by hand (there is no reason to screw them back in). When it comes to the filter change remove the holding bits the same as above, remove the body and filter from the scuttle, push the old filter out (no major effort is needed) and insert the new filter and re-fit everything. Total time for this is 10 minutes, very simple very quick.
So just an update from testing this product that I fitted back in October and removed it to check last week (begining of January 2024), Hard top as been fitted for winter motoring and to say I was extremely shocked with just what it had stopped in 3 months use on her as a daily is unbelievable, new filters ordered , personally I feel this is definitely a winter must use filter, summer not so much as the roof is mainly down anyway ,but look at the crud it's caught, if they are a garage queen or just summer and weekend toys, then you won't need to change one for 12 to 24 months ....
