We make the acid wheel cleaner,and it is really good stuff, but I have never had any problems with a TFR and water mix depending on how strong you want or need it, takes it straight of no messing.

I wouldn't use a caustic cleaner on my own wheels as I feel it is too aggressive, they don't normally get a chance to be really dirty but at Blyton Alan Robinson drove my Black un for a good few laps and nearly knackered the road use pads Wayne had recently fitted.

Tried an "Iron out" non-caustic wheel cleaner did make a big difference but they were still not perfect as they are White had to take them off and used a mildly abrasive polish first then a gloss polish to get them right.

I know we say Alloy wheels but most are not "Alloy" but are painted or powder coated, some are lacquered. I can't remember the last time i had the Autosol out to shine up some actual alloy wheels.
We use the Acid simply because people bring in un loved cars with Filthy black wheels that ought to be silver. It's pretty good stuff as long as you don't let it dry. The wheels don't suffer any abrasion then, they are just chemicaly cleaned. TFR also shouldn't be left to go dry, or left on neat as this will mark paintwork. Like most things used properly they work a treat.

Thanks for the picture Wayne had us chained up in the shed so we never got to see it. Im surprised how calm he was after it happened
