MK 2.5 broken centre arm rest cubby hole fix

Postby Mazda Mender » Thu Aug 28, 2014 7:14 am

I have been getting a lot of contacts of late about the MK 2.5 centre arm rest cubby holes (Ash try and cup holders) staying up and not staying down, it is a common fault just like the MK 2's arm rest hinge being made from cheese also.

So here is a quick fix for MK 2.5 owners for good.....

The little tag thats made of cheese breaks off over time with the pressure of the spring...

So you need to remove the centre arm rest section from the roadster and remove which ever cubby hole is broken to repair, as there is no set fix common sense is the key and a couple of small screws most of the time do the job whether it is the locking tag that snaps off or the lug that the spring sits on , if it is the lug that the spring sits on ,i have repaired them in the past with a screw and a washer to hold it back in place, which is a more solid repaier than the OE lug.

Any way in this case it is the locking tag that feel out with the roadster..

As and when i get the repairs here, i will take more pics and post up the different ways to repair this issue . :handgestures-thumbup:
