Underseal Berkshire way

Hi, I am looking for a trusted company to underseal my MK1. I am looking for something local to Reading if possible. Any suggestions?

Me too, though I do also need to get surface rust off my chassis rails first though. Hope it is just chassis rust, eeek.

Does that include all the cavities i.e. inside the sills and chassis rails?

I hope it does but as long as it is inside arches and underneath, then it's not too bad. I will ask, trying to book in now.

I'm only getting mine done to protect the most vulnerable areas which on a Mk2.5 is the sills and front chassis rails. Anything else is pretty much cosmetic.

Sills, arches, front rails in and out, underneath,under rail box sections inside,all box sections,front inner wing/back and bottom where it meets the sill (drainage point from skuttle and is always full of crud rotting away ) subframes.bones etc etc, do it right first time ,job done.

When I say that I'm only getting mine done to protect the most vulnerable areas (sills and front chassis rails), I don't mean those are the only areas I'd get done, just that those are the main focus. If they aren't going to be done properly I'm not interested and I'll go somewhere else. The rest of it is fairly simple and the same as any MX5.

Actually I want to look at doing this myself but was planning to get underneath to start wire brushing off all the surface crud first. However to do a first pass clean up best as possible before going under with the brush what's best to do a general clean of loose crap and dirt so I can see minor details like where frame stops and control arms start instead of something that looks like a dirt pile :) - jetwash ? bit wary of it as I've got one of the side diff seals leaking slightly ( small leak its been diagnosed as ) so want to get off the diff oil that's sprayed underneath and get the dirt and crap off everything but spraying high pressure water under a Eunos seems a bit ... wrong. I am guessing steam would be better but forecourts don't tend to have them - What have the rest of you guys done when you first get your rides to start making them dinner plate plush ?

Elbow grease, mechanical wire brush & needle gun is what I've used. Then treat any sign of rust with converter then prime all bear areas before putting anything else on

I am going to have a go at doing my own. Have the dintrol kit I just need to get on with it.... Wire brush and elbow grease....
