Vice Grip Pliers

Postby drumtochty » Mon May 25, 2015 11:09 am

i have around 10 pars of vice grip pliers that are all worse than useless due to the jaws not meeting etc.

What is a reasonable make that just work for say 6 months or so rather than 10 minutes.

Not sure if this helps and I am sure I'll be corrected by by the "old lags" but I have two pairs of mole grips that I got more than 40 years ago and they are still going strong.

They were made by Peterson /Dewitt, Nebraska. USA

I also bought a new, cheap, pair last year to carry in the car. they lasted for one use and then the jaws didn't meet. These days I try to buy my hand tools from car boot sales, and only old tools. If they have survived then they are probably going to last for me.

Yes I asked the same on an other couple of forums and someone also said use "mole grips" and they are now imported by Stanley.
