Good FB pages are moderated too. You just have to pick the right ones. Just like Forums. Nutz anyone?

Face book groups are a croc as you know, our group is run with the same rules as on here so NO bad advice, No boy ricer sh*t, No bullsh*t, just straight talking honest correct advice and info and grown up banter in a on line garage.
The mods and admin on here also run the FB group, it works.

That's exactly my point. If its well moderated then its no different to a well moderated forum. A forum that isn't well moderated (like Nutz) is no better than an FB page.

The FB group of nutz is bad the forum is ok, but then i only went in to answer questions just like on all the rest, trust me the clubs board is no better, the big one i keep hearing about us is that we are not big and there is never a lot going on? well most of us are doing what it says....mending our mazda's and personally i am more than happy for her to just tick along as she is, she was never built to be the biggest ,just a place for owners to trust to pop in and get correct answers, see it as a garage, so if you are in there and some kid comes in with a cold start problem on his boosted MK 1 and you solve it, and then he starts to tell you how he as just blasted the ar*e out of her in a road limited section and is chuffed to tell you that he as just done 0-60 in somethings seconds....
You would give him the cold blank look of FFS :angry-banghead: :confusion-helpsos: :sad-roulette: :violence-smack: ,,,,,,,it would be a case of "great" ,pay me, now f*ck off.
Some see that as rude? personally i see it as honest and really not interested as it sums the picture up of what you have dealt with.
The other biggie for me is when you get into a D*ck swinging contest about info and advice, because of what i personally stand for, i will not let the ball go until they listen from their wrong/incorrect advice, because otherwise others will read it as correct and be passed along getting worse, where as if it is right, it's right, end of and everyone is happy.

I have hit more problems on the club board in the back ground with the mods with not having a system to work to and stroking a power badge , on nutz it tends to be or it did, was on the board it self locking horns for trying to help owners, and the mods not stepping in so it became a free for all on threads unless you had owners that know you coming in to back you up, which reminded me of camps all fighting each other in a camp,,,,,warriors the movie springs to mind.
I was in loads of others on the net and on FB but it does get to if i can not see it or hear it, i cannot get involved as much as wrong if kills me big time, then it does not p*ss me off.
I am not ar*ed what camp anyone is in, it makes not one bit of difference to me and i get form but i am a biggie for function to and the two work together to enjoy these little roadsters to the full.

This as been Wayne reporting from Wigan with a knackard phone, full of a full on man cold, and still not started my own Mk 2.1/4 for news at 9am :handgestures-thumbup: :coffee: :-D

I am not on facebook but quite a few of my family are and I get the chance to sometimes peer over their shoulders, moderated or not its a crock of crap full of self empowered morons who think people want to know what colour their baby's first motion is.

Wont ever be convinced its anything more than an overrated under-moderated site.

Now where's the phone, I need to ring M-m!!!

Initially I joined nutz and the buy & sell groups on FB but pretty much as soon as I joined Mm I stopped going there and stopped the notifications as everyone wants to go skidding or bitch about their turbos & superchargers not running right. It was/is a steep learning curve for me as I have aircooled VW background but simply taking a bit of time to read old posts in these forums really helps. Glad there are a few more old gits like me who scowl at these little whipper snappers in their rusted heaps.

right, time to send a telex to Wayne,....

Im old and do the FB. The phone is in my pocket and i can browse when I get a minute which is unfortunately bloody rare at the moment.
I try and Mod our own Fb group and between us I think it's doing fairly well. Same thing again is the time and convenience when it comes to posting. Take a photo and it's uploaded in seconds while I eat my dinner or have a brew.
Yes lot's of kids are little w%nkers and have not had the experience of me being there dad and kicking there ar*e lol. Ignore them or put them straight simple. often you put them straight and they will Pm you for proper help :handgestures-thumbup:
