1.8 Valve stem seals

Postby cjgreaves41 » Mon Oct 12, 2015 9:48 pm

Hi all,

I'm getting a bit of smoke on start up. Never noticed it before but I left the car sat for a month or so started it on Saturday and a noticeable amount of smoke appeared. After a bit of digging I'm assuming valve stem seals are the culprit.

Three questions?

1.Could it be anything else? If so how can I check?

2. How hard are they to do with the head on? There seem to be a few you tube videos but I wouldn't mind some advice!

3. Best specific tools to get hold of to do it?

Cheers
