Antenna lead

Hi all ,
Radio signal has suddenly became non existent , wondering if its unit or antenna lead ?
I've checked connections at head unit and antenna both are fine , wondering wether it may have split somewhere along its length? Where does the lead travel through car? Any ideas to sort this problem please :handgestures-thumbup:

Not scientific, but if you have an old aerial floating about, connect it up and see if you get a radio signal, if so then the old aerial (antenna) is the problem. I had this on a previous mx with a remote antenna, and it was a fault within the mast, used the existing lead to connect a new one up to and it worked fine.
1993 1.6 Eunos Roadster (gone)
1998 UK Mk 2 1.6 (gone)
2003 1.8 SVT Sport (shouldnt have sold it)
1991 1.6 Eunos Roadster with a bit of bling.

The cable runs from the boot along the drivers sill in some trunking and to the HU, i would also try another HU, does everything else work to get noise out of it?

Is it a Sony head unit?

I had this problem on my Mk 2 with the Sony unit fitted from new. There is apparently a known problem where the radio ceases to work.

I think it is probably only a small component failed or dry joint somewhere, but it was cheaper to buy another from that well known auction site. I did have a bit of a result as I bid on and won a head unit with mini disk and CD autochanger which turned out to be within walking distance of home.

Sounds like the HU at fault, I agree with Colin the bay of e as some great HU for around £40,,,i'll find you a link of the ones we now use...
