My wifes Mk1 requires a few bits & pieces, primarily a rocker cover gasket an clutch master cylinder. The price difference between genuine Mazda parts and pattern parts is significant.
What is the general consensus on the quality of pattern parts vs. OEM?

M-m

1997 Mk1 1.8, absolutely bog standard even down to the dealer fitted tape player. The only other 'extra' is the switch & wiring for the hard top HRW, again dealer fitted.

Re: Strange problem with wipers & headlights
An update; I’ve just been out in the garage and had the steering column shroud off to give all the connections a good waggle and it made no difference. I did operate the headligh switch a few times and after using the flash function the wipers stopped. So no idea of the cause but it’s stopped doing ...

Strange problem with wipers & headlights
I’ve got a strange electrical problem with my wife’s Mk1. When ignition on and switch on headlights the wipers have started coming on, when you switch the lights off the wipers return to the parked position. They don’t do this if you just switch on the side lights. Any ideas where I should look? Tha...

Re: Hello!
She was/is very happy! Thanks for the welcomes, the issues I mentioned are already being worked through. The first thing was the fact that the revs would drop down to 400 or 500rpm when coming to a stop at a T junction. The engine would be on the verge of stalling then recover just in time. Last nig...

Mk1 - How Long To Warm Up?
Hi, I've just bought a MK1 1.8 MX5 and it seems to be taking a long time for the engine coolant to get up to temperature. It's not the warmest day today(!) but I drove it about 8 miles and the needle on the temperature gauge was still only at a quarter. Is that normal? I've only really done one othe...

Hello!
Hi, I've just bought a Mk1 MX5 for my wife. She had a one years ago when we first met (a Monza) which she loved but we had to sell it to buy a more practical car  Anyway, ten years on times have changed and we've got another one, this time a 1.8 Harvard. It's only had a couple of owners and has...
