Re: First trackday - prep advice?
No, using the AC adds extra load to the engine, which is why it needs the extra fan. Traveling at 100mph causes more flow through the radiator than fans would anyway.
Just keep an eye on the water temp gauge. If it starts to move above “normal”, do a bit of “lift & coast” to cool it down a bit.

Yes you will need a helmet. Doesn’t matter if the car has a roof or not,na helmet is always required on track days. With the top down, you will need long trousers and long sleeves too. Do you have a tyre pump & pressure gauge? You will want to adjust the pressures once the tyres get hot. Keep th...

2001 will be OBDII but airbag system problems are read by flash codes - the airbag warning light itself flashes.

Can you confirm the flashes? Is it 6 equal flashes or something like 4 slow and 2 fast?

Re: Hello and Help Please
There is only a sensor on the passenger side. It’s an occupancy sensor. There is no need for an occupancy sensor on the drivers side as it’s hard to crash without a driver! If your car has heated seats, you will have a single 2-wire connector on the drivers seat but that has nothing to do with airba...

Might also mean it is running rich and/or it has a misfire which is killing the cat. They don’t like unburnt fuel.

Re: Mk2.5 Tyre Rubbing on Full Lock
Do you know if it has been used as a drift-car at some point? Might someone have fitted... whatever it's called... that allows extra steering lock for drifters?

Re: Mk 4 with lifeless steering
Way back in 98 I bought my first 5, a Mk1 1.8i Berkeley. I had to have the alignment done after a couple of months because, although it was fine in a straight line, it turned sharply left but very heavy right. Turns out I had negative camber one side and positive the other. I was told that whether a...

Re: mk2 1.8 exhaust , cat & egr
Hi Ebod On an otherwise standard car, there is no benefit from removing the EGR. The carbon canister just helps to absorb fuel fumes from the fuel tank to stop them venting to the atmosphere. They don’t get blocked or dirty. Again, no real benefit from removal on an otherwise standard car other than...
