In this how to we will be replacing them on MK 1 bilstein dampers.

The bilstein suspension like the OE dampers are very hard wearing and last for many many years, the main thing that goes wrong is with the bottom bushes squash out of the damper housing and deform because of the angle and squeak...

All MX-5 / Roadsters have coilover suspension. Many owners replace the standard coilovers with aftermarket adjustable versions or swap the coilovers between the models.
