well what a great start to the year, look at this weather, lets be honest we deserve it and need it, hope you're enjoying all those car meets going on and making the most of it,..NEWS....massive thank you to Mr Steve owner of Goodwood Sports cars for believing in what we do and sponsoring the forum so fellow owners can use her to help in saving cash and keeping them on the road where they belong, other news is we are shuffling a plan together for a dedicated you tube channel for everyone to use, which will also have guests videos to help, bit more on that as we finalise it all, lets see those builds and any guides needed please just ask, enjoy the roof down weather.

Autolink MX5 are sponsoring the 2013 HSA Hillclimb Championship for Class A2.1 - Mazda MX5s up to 2000cc

These are both the sprint and hillclimb dates.....

The dates are:

17th March Mallory Park BARC Midlands

Autolink Renews HSA Speed Championship Sponsorship

Autolink are pleased to announce they have renewed their sponsorship of the HSA Speed Championship Class A2.1 – Mazda MX5.

There are currently 8 registered drivers.

The events are held throughout the country and are both sprints and hill climbs.

It'll be my first time on a proper track at speed (have done some drifting before but that's on open areas with nothing but cones to hit, and in someone elses car too!) so apart...

Hi folks,
I'm going to be doing a full season sprinting my Mk2 Roadster RS along with 20-odd other MX5 enthusiasts in the Scottish Lowland Speed Championship.
I'll also be doing some events in the XBC Crossborder Speed Championship in the North of England and hope to get to places like Olivers...

Georges 2nd track day and first ever wet drive. The Video has a bit of rain, a bit chasing Bob in his supercharged mx5 and then a quick lap in the 1min 16's . Quicker than my turbo car.
Of course I put it down to my excellent engine re-build. I can't admit he's quicker lol.

We have two mk1's I take on track but one suffers from fuel starvation on longer g force bends.
One is fine even at well under quarter of a tank of fuel.
The other starts to play up at just under half a tank. This is my turbo car and apparently the last owner mentioned it had had a Jackson fuel...

Here's a video of an incident at Shelsley Walsh on Sunday afternoon - around 119mph at that point.

I was competing at Shelsley. Wallace is fine and would tell you he's been more injured playing Rugby!

Ok the Mclaren was going steady so no glory, but still this doesn't happen everyday.
It's my inboard camera from last Saturday at Cadwell Park. From My 1.6 turbo mk1 , road going on road tyres.
It was a good fun day.

This is a bit of a comparison of three sprint runs at Blyton park. Three different cars and drivers on one screen.
It is a bit much to take in, but we slow motion and pause it. It's good to compare who is quickest at what point. I'm top of the screen by the way.

My son has bought his first mx5. Is there a way he can get on track at 16.
If not it will be an 8 month track build until his driving test. If he passes lol

Just to let people know, myself and half a dozen more from Scunny will be going.
The day is split in half with open pitlane in the morning and timed sprints in the afternoon. You get plenty of track time and around 5/6 sprints in the afternoon.

Always a contentious issue :-D

Every tyre is a compromise ie, Wet grip, dry grip, wear rate etc.

So my vote for an all-rounder Track and road.

Great in the dry equivalent to a toyo tr1 not as sticky as 888's
In the Wet they are outstanding.
