I could find no details on the net to assist removing and replacing a MX5 NC rear brake caliper.

The site has manuals but if you look through them in detail there are missing sections in the manual with regards to the handbrake cable. Further the Mazda European Portal paid for area, their MESI...

The NC or Mk3 MX5 requires the coolant to be replaced as it reaches 11 years old then every 5 years after that. This can be done without removing the front engine under shield. I thought some owners would want to confirm the condition of the front chassis rails at the same time, therefore I have...

I'm having my MK3 engine rebuilt at Roddisons and whilst it's out I was wondering if there's anything else worth doing in the engine bay.

Are silicone hoses worth fitting? There's a full set on BOFI of 19 hoses but do the aftermarket silicone ones have any issues compared to OEM?

MX5Restorer do a weekly video of what's in their workshop. This week they have a 2006 Mk3 with some rust issues worth a look for Mk3 owners.

No connection with MX5Restorer. The Mk3 section is 4 min 30 seconds in to the clip.

I just bought an '09 NC for cheap but unfortunately it has a bit of rust on the underside and a slight leak in the exhaust. Can anyone recommend a decent garage that can give my car a once over and let me know what needs to be done to get it back into good shape?

Hi,

Changed my mk3 front discs and pads following a sticking caliper and apparently warped disc. Did the unwarped side first, and it struck me how 'knackered' the warped side bearing seemed in comparison. Much noisier, spins more freely and a bit wonkily - looks like I needlessly changed the...

It's now 11 years since your car hit the road and the service guide advises that the FL22 antifreeze is changed at 11 years old, 125,000 miles.

Why not go mad and change the belt at the same time.

Morning Menders,

Coming into the second winter with the mx5 and wondering this year if iit would be best to swap to a set of winter tyres?

Whats the general opinion of this?

Has anyone done it and is it best?

Bought front and rear discs and pads for the Mk3.

Fitted the front discs and pads and thought that the pads were a bit loose on re assembly.

Then after doing both sides and opened the box for the rear discs and found out that I had put the backs on the front.

Apart from me being daft not...

Have a lovely Mk 3 RHD but now using here in France. I need to change to LHD headlights to get through the local MOT equivalent-how do you get at the units to change them?>-Is it necessary to remove whole of front valance to do this?

Can anyone tell me why the front brakes slider pins are different top and bottom. Top pin plain and lower pin has a rubber insert along part of the dia?

I have serviced the brakes number of times and noticed that the bottom slider with the inserted rubber has been a persisitant bugger sticking...

Despite the Sport Black only having covered 9.5k miles the rear discs are looking a bit on the rough side, not the usual corrosion on the hub but on the disc surface itself.

Obviously with the substantial hike in power that the car has brakes become mega important and yes, whilst the fronts do...

If this happening to you you need to take the black plastic lower windscreen panel (skuttle) off
Lift Bonnet
Remover wiper arms
There are two oval plugs on the ns & os of the panel remove these two screws you can see
Then disconnetc the wiper wash pipe and take the panel (skuttle) off it...
