Christopher is lucky enough to own lots of different MX5’s / Roadsters, he is such a fan of the marque that he has amassed a collection that includes a MK1, MK2, MK2.5, MK 3 , MK 3.5 and MK 4...

Good old Chri has another issue , this time it is the engine randomly cutting out on his 1.6 1992 import, whether it is idling on his drive or while driving, it is intermittent and he says he can see the revs dropping to stall and if he is quick enough, he can press the clutch peddle in and rev her...

Well he's back the unluckiest man to own a Mx-5/Roadster with another issue this time on his Mk 1 NA mx-5 UK spec 1997 1.8...
His instrument gauges are not working apart from the speedo which is mechanical driven,the Auto spark that came to asses it says it needs a re-wire for a very nice sum :eek:...

The unluckiest man to ever own a Mx-5/Roadster as an issue with his MK 1 NA 1.6 UK spec Mx-5...
The Mx-5 died on him over the weekend and looks like the charging system is not charging even though he as fitted a new alternator, so he is at a loss, after getting her towed home :cry:

Can you help...

He's back and this time with his MK 2/2.5 he as come to put the heater on as normal and as nothing, the speed control is doing jack, blower is not kicking in on any of the speed settings 1 to 4.
It is winter and it's cold, so he needs his heater to also keep the windscreen clean from fogging up as...

He says it was fine yesterday but when he got home it wouldn't open.

Pete has just bought a MK1 1.6 Automatic.

He can't get the key out of the ignition.

He's put some silicone spray into the barrel but it still won't shift. Any ideas ?

Pete's Mk2 headlights seem to be foggy, it's not on the inside, it seems the clear cover has faded.

Any solutions, without buying more headlights. Ideally something that will clean them.....

Any suggestions?

Pete's having trouble, not every time he uses the clutch but he can't get it into gear.

When he pumps the clutch it works works fine for a time..

Any ideas?

Pete's just bought a new MK1. It's just come in from Japan and it has a really cool stereo in it BUT he can only get some of the UK radio stations on FM.

It's driving him nuts because he's missed the Archers!

Any ideas?

One of Pete's cars has just failed an MOT.

The failure sheet say Upper and Lower Ball Joint Rubber split. He's been told that he can't by the rubbers and will have to buy the new wishbones for the top rubbers and new ball joints for the bottom. The cost is over £500.

Does anyone know if you can...

Pete was out in his MK1 earlier and he says he's got a really odd noise that gets louder when he turns left. It's not as noisy when he goes straight or turms right. Seems to be coming from the front somehwere.

Any ideas?

Pete's taken his MK2.5 out today and seems to have a much noisier than usual . The noise is coming from the gearbox or drive train.

His MK2.5 is a 6 speed with a Limited Slip Diff - he's owned it since new - 2002....

He's going to put it on a ramp later in the week and he'll change the gearbox...

Pete's got a roof leak. It's been going on a while but he's been busy with the other problems.

Water is coming in at the front and centre side seals on the soft-top. Any ideas?

Pete's MK1 roadster has a fault on the headlights, when he switches them on to dip or high beam, one of them is going up and down, even when he switches them off it continues to go up and down for a while before it stops.
What’s wrong and can you help?

Pete got in his pride and joy this morning, turned the key and nothing. With the help of his wife they jump started the and off he went to work, a 20 mile drive from home. At 5.30 this evening on leaving work, the car is dead again, he is at a loss as to whats wrong as he thought that the 20 mile...

Pete's lost his door key, it fell down a drain just after he got out of the car at home. He can't see it and he's lucky because he hadn't locked the car. (Good job he's got a MK2 too!!!)

Where can he find the key code to get a new one cut?

Petes roadster has a rattle just as he hits 2,000/3,000 revs and goes, and as he comes back down through the revs, it comes back? sometimes even at tick over he can hear it.
What is it and where can he look to sort this out?

When he tries to put the electric window down, it only goes down a 1" or so and stops, he can still hear the motor going, it will go back up again, but if he tries again to lower it it stops dead again.
Can you help him out?

With all this weather, rain and all, Pete's noticed that there a small oil leak after he's parked up at night. He says he's checked the oil a few times and it doesn;'t seem to be losing any... but there is definately a leak - there a coloured puddle on the floor after it's rained...
