Well the last round is a double header on the same day so No tent was required so we missed out on the evening fun of shivering competitions and beer chugging.

But that did mean I was on the road at 05.00 just to make sure I got to Mallory Park on time as loast year...

Had our usual August sprint at North Weald yesterday. A couple of MX5s competeing...

I'll be running in the weekends hill climb at Gurtson Down this weekend.

It's a British Championship Event - cars will be running at upto 150+ miles an hour and doing the hill in around 27 to 30 seconds

25th is practice day - first session starts around 08:30, another in the morning, then lunch...

Mr Chrome will be competing at these two hillclimbs:

21st and 22nd July (22nd is race day) - Gurston Down - Near Salisbury -

28th and 29th July (29th race day) - Wiscombe Park - Near Honiton, Devon -

Not done Wiscombe Park before and it's a tricky one!

It's been a busy week end :-)

I was at a rather damp North Weald yesterday for Sevenoaks Motor Club Autosolo. These are a great way to get into motor sport as you don't need a Helmet or overalls to compete.

There were a few OC members out enjoying themselves.

We are back there for another...

Went up to this Saturday. Parked up initially with OC lot but then trundled round to South Bank as I could watch from the car if (when!) it rained. It is also closer to Druids which is the only spot that doesn't have debris fencing these days.

Entered two further events at Gurston Down last month.

Saturday event - 2nd in class behind a Sylva Stricker - smashed my personal best by almost 1.5 seconds - now 42.61

Sunday event - 5th and last BUT two more runs 42.69 and 42.75 - against cars that were running four seconds faster than I was...

For those that may be interested, Sevenoaks and District motor Club of which I am a member, is running a two day sprint and car show at Crystal Palace this coming week end 26-27th May.

I entered the two Gurston Down events at the weekend.

I'm not in an MX5 but thought you might like to see what it's like from a drivers view. Sound is quite important as you'll hear engine noise and the ABS working overtime, particularly in the Timed Runs on 22nd April...
