Re: Sunny day and no car!
You have to replace the whole housing that it sits in about £70 if I remember.
No use going secondhand as that particular section will be rusty.

Hi
Sorry, the leak is actually coming from the lower end of the pipe shaped like a hockey stick. The corroded L shaped pipe goes into the block lower down.

Re: Sunny day and no car!
Apologies folks - should have introduced the car. P reg Dakar no.360 in reasonable nick, not perfect by any means, but everyday use to work and evening blasts out along the very quiet and secretive roads around Teesdale........shhhhh, don't tell too many people about this glorious area! Have done all the usual relatively easy bits and bobs on the car -unblocked leaks, changed all the changeables etc.

Hi All
Thanks for the help, yes bought the suggested pipe mx5 parts nearly 100 notes, new gasket and o ring and changed belts whilst there but all sorted apart from ripped knuckles as per usual. Removed air box and power steering pump which really helped for access....so far so good!
have a great weekend folks

Great news. Hope you took pics. Do share them and whatever else you did on the car. I had the exact same issue and used this forum to get the job done right when i was a noob mender.
