Buying replacement/repair panels

Postby graymattor » Tue May 12, 2020 9:32 pm

Hi All,

Just a quick one, where are you guys buying you Mk1 replacement / repair panels from? There appear to be a lot of places selling them and all sorts of discounts, I would be interested to hear anyone that's gone through this recently before I start trawling the world wide web! (If I do I'll knock up some sort of spreadsheet with the parts and supplier with corresponding prices and post here)

Particular panels

Full sill
Rear inner sill section
Rear full arch
Rear inner arch section
Rear outter sill section
Front inner sill section
Front wings

Thanks

Chris

Chris, for most of the panels you mention we involve cutting etc so I have have no problems with Autolink / MX5 parts. However, it fitting new wings I have learnt the hard way patten parts need a lot of fettering to get right.

Thanks,

Sorry I didn't get notifications,

Thanks for the tips, I'm hoping the wings are ok, the arches are fine, I just noticed the other day the bottoms didn't look right, but might just be something I can sort without replacing.. I'm going to have a good inspection over the weekend and do some gentle prodding, to get an idea of what I actually need.

I've found a full drives sill locally (old stock) for £45 so will get that, be rude not to lol.

MX5 heaven do a kit of parts, not sure if it's good value or not, a guy on facebook is selling the same kit inc one front wing for £400 but not local and wont post,

Hopefully I'll have time over the weekend to check out suppliers inc autolink with the discount that I can now see, and get my build threads up :handgestures-thumbup:
