That was an interesting link and its done nothing to make me consider an all electric car, might have a hybrid before they ban em.

Our 2016 VW diesel estate. Brand new was well over 10k cheaper than the cheapest electric on test.

On a full tank of fuel I can drive well over 500 miles so I can safely leave Scarborough and go anywhere in the country without having to plan my route to cater for finding a charging point then sitting for God knows how long to get it charged up.

Even when the VW does need fuel a full tank only takes around ten minutes to fill and I am on my way again.

The little Maxda gets me all the way to Pitlochry on just over half a tank.

So untill they can produce an electric car that can do around 500 miles on a charge, cost around 25k new, I will keep what I have got.

Here comes the flack so stab vest on!!

I get the electric milk floats ,they are nothing new, and there is room for them as a mode of transport, but to sell the idea that they are " better for the world" is rubbish, if we all start to use just electric cars etc...how will the world cope with the amount of electric needed to charge them and everything else, how are the going to be producing the electric needed for the demand....more wind farms and solar panels???? that will defo not do it .....and then what happens to the old battery cells??????

At the end of the day it all comes down to the one thing it as always been.......greed and money.... it got us here and will always continue to.

We are going full circle, we will be going back to steam and horses.

There was an item recently about the demand for certain rare metals etc used in the production of the electric cells and the global damage it was causing to our planet, sea beds being ripped up, giant mines being created to quarry out precious minerals all to go into batteries. Then at the end of the day what happens to the old defunct batteries.

Short sighted and money grabbing.

We cant go carbon neutral,, it just isn't going to work as not one world power is going to start restricting air travel.
