Mk 1 cup holder for the centre arm rest section...

Postby Mazda Mender » Mon Jul 22, 2019 7:08 am

Yet again in one of our car chats with Matthew Lambert about all things Roadsters. The topic came up about cup holders for our large cars, and he mentioned the "Mike Satur" alloy cup holder that replaces the factory ashtray utilising the OE ashtray base...

So off he went and a week later he called around with this 3D printed holder in black - so in keeping - cheap and light...

Here is a walk through guide on fitting it, the cup holder can be purchased straight through Matthew Lambert direct...

Get your old ashtray and turn it over to see the 4 x small phillips head screws that need to be removed and put them safe...

Turn it over and there are two bent over tabs that hold it in place, they just need bending up to release it with a flat driver...

Now it is just a case of getting the cup holder and turning it over. Rest the back of the old ashtray on top of the cup holder and re-add the screws to hold the cup holder solid to the metal case of the ashtray....
